Ben wasn't in the greatest mood that morning. Although he was much more than just happy to be back at Hogwarts, he hadn't had the best start to his seventh year. The train ride was fine, fun but long as usual. But by the end of the night, he had such a horrible headache that he went to bed before the party was over. He made an appearance at the beginning to say hello to a few people he hadn't gotten the chance to see on the train, then left to sleep in peace and try to work off his headache.
To make things worse, he woke up much earlier than usual because he had gone to bed so early. He felt a bit awkward being awake in the dormitory for hours while his dorm-mates were sleeping, so he decided to take a walk around the castle to clear his head. But Ben lost track of time, and now he was basically late for breakfast. Not that breakfast had a specific start time, but Ben hated feeling like he was late for something. And to make things much worse, almost the entire school was already in the Great Hall by the time he got there. He could hear the loud murmur of hundreds of voices from where he stood in the Entrance Hall, feeling quite uncomfortable. Ben didn't do well with crowds, and he definitely did not want to walk into that room and have everyone look at him. No doubt someone would comment on how he was late, which he almost never was, and then Ben would be more embarrassed than ever. He wished he could just Apparate to his seat at the Gryffindor table; that was save him from the humiliation he expected to feel in the next few moments, though most would consider him to be quite unreasonable when considering the current situation to be "humiliating". But that was just Ben.
He stepped quietly into the Great Gall, though he knew very well that no one would've been able to hear him if he stepped particularly in a loud way. Looking down at his feet as he walked, he made his way over to the Gryffindor table rather quickly, trying not to attract too much attention. He wasn't clumsy, so he didn't expect to trip, though that would probably be his worst nightmare. He took a seat on the other side of James (Gia was occupying the seat on James' other side) and waved at his friends who were seated around their clump of the table. "Good morning everyone," he said with a small smile, then turned more to James. "Hey man! How was the party? Anything interesting happen?" he asked, though he knew the famous Gryffindor parties were always involved interesting events. He wished he could've been there, but he really just hadn't felt up to it that night. "I didn't see you much before it. I had a mad headache so I just went to bed," he explained.

The morning had not come too soon for Roxanne, especially not for someone who was tossing and turning as the excess of alcohol ran its course through their veins. It was particularly an experience she had many times before, though she never tried to remedy it in hindsight. She felt the headache pound at her skull, like her brain was going to smash through the bone. Pinching at her temples seemed to alleviate some of the pain, but the rapid and sheer consumption factors dictated that the consequences were going to be severe.
At least it wasn't worse. It could have been far worse.
Piecing together the night was far more difficult than she originally imagined. As she searched for an outfit to wear, she tried tracing back to the beginning. A shirt, the color pink -- the journey to the party was a bit hazy -- and jeans, comfortable Muggle attire -- Jay and Gia caught her attention, yes -- a comfortable pair of socks and shoes -- her cousin, James, showing off his machismo by asserting himself in front of Gia, kissing her -- a loose hair tie and a matching ribbon to finish -- she and Jay scampering off to avoid the awkward situation, her lips sealing against his...
"I kissed him, didn't I?" she said aloud, her roommates already gone for breakfast. "Well, that ought to be a fun and interesting conversation later."
Her rumbling stomach told her to venture to the Great Hall for a delicious meal. Roxanne did not deny this request. The headache was not so terribly bad, well, it did feel like a sharp dagger. Rest would help, of course, but she could do so later. She could tough it out.
The majority of students were at their respective tables, and the occasional mix. Visiting another table was quite fun sometimes, but she'd always call the Gryffindor one home. And it might have well been a permanent home, seeing as half her extended family attended Hogwarts and were Sorted into Gryffindor as well. A blessing and a curse, quite so...
There was no hesitation as she plopped down into the seat next to Gia, feeling quite up to the chance of being extremely nosy. "Hello and good morning to all," she announced, her entrance as charismatic as possible. She opted for the easy greeting, as she'd probably forget a couple of Weasleys and then they'd be sore feelings. Same with her other peers and Gryffindor comrades. The headache was flaring up again.
They were in the midst of their own conversations, perhaps for the best. Her fingers tried massaging her temples again, with little improvement. And of course when she had a lot to think of... she wanted to know the end result of Gia and James' awkward situation, and what to make out of her drunken kiss with Jay. A warm, fluttering feeling crept up, temporarily masking her headache. If I didn't know any better...
"So Gianna," she started, taking the perfect opportunity to grab her attention while her cousin was distracted with another classmate. "I, and on Jay's behalf, apologize for leaving so quickly last night. We figured you needed a moment."

The whole situation was awkward for both of them, apparently, but Allen kind of expected to do something very wrong at any given moment and make everyone upset or something. The small greeting from Dom was fun to hear, as that had been the way she acknowledged him at parties, he had guessed it wouldn't be so now too. Then Gia's hello, and James whispering. In come the weird looks, whispers and stares.
But as soon as it had a started, Rose had made his awkward introduction. She seemed a bit nervous herself, but their hands were together once more, which made him smile a bit. "Uh...yeah. Hey everyone..." he said, not sure what to say, but smiling at the few he knew. Sadly, those he did were either drunk or because he'd apologized endlessly for one of his mishaps. "
Yet again, he started overthinking everything, as he though he felt endless stares directed their way. His hand started caressing Rose's softly, more out of the urge to bite at his skin than anything, but it made him relax a bit too. He thought no one must think their relationship would last more than a few weeks, which made him anxious... made him worry about that too. His eyes drifted down the table, noticing a few people he remembered being related to Rose, then back to her, the smile a bit awkward, but inspired by her. He waited for her to start getting something on her plate, feeling awfully rude to just start serving himself like that.

Pouring herself a glass of pumpkin juice, she took some unidentifiable food, pushing it around her plate in looping spirals. She'd always hated breakfast, but this was taking the cake. It seemed like there was no escape, and to her minor disappointment, Allen was stiff as a board, although his hand was still in hers, and he seemed to be relaxing slightly. The others just seemed slightly shell shocked, silent in the face of utter confusion.
However, as she heard the quick pace of two feet traipsing towards the Gryffindor table, her entire expression lit up. His face came into view, and suddenly her forced smile was exceedingly real. "Ben!" She enthused, happy to see her friend, especially since she'd barely spoken to him over the summer. But of course, he'd already turned to James, and it was as if she didn't exist. Same thing with Gia...why did her older cousin have so much power over all of her friends? It wasn't as if she didn't love James, she did, but it hurt her that all of her friends seemed to prefer him to her.
Giving Dom a "fml" glance, she turned back to Allen, wondering how he had responded to her excitement over seeing Ben. Nothing had happened between the two of them, in her defense, she just happened to adore him like the big brother she'd never had. Then another newcomer sat down at the table, Roxanne. She nodded a greeting to her, but immediately saw her attention being drawn to Gia. How was it that she felt like such a stranger at her own breakfast table? It was as if she was allowed to be there, but not to be a part of it. That emotion hurt, tore away at her confidence, the feeling that even within her own family and friends, that she still didn't belong, that she never had belonged and never would belong.
Exhaling deeply, she tried to immerse herself in drinking her pumpkin juice, but found herself seriously wishing it was spiked. Thinking too much seemed to be a bad idea for her these days.

Dominique suddenly noticed the presence of the young girl almost next to her, thanks to the written thoughts almost crossing over her head. "Whoa, hey there, Ashley... didn't see you for a bit." she said in greeting, never liking to leave someone out, but that seemed to happen a lot more with Ashley that she would've liked. She turned back to Gia with a knowing smirk and a wink, just to tease a bit, but remained silent on that matter, hoping not to make them awkward. The redhead noticed Roxie's arrival at the table and she waved at her happily, along with Ben, who was immediately talking to James and most likely wouldn't even notice.
The tension building up for Rose was noticable to her, at least, and Allen's uncomfortable situation too. She decided to spark up conversation with them instead, just to calm Rose, who was currently glancing her way, and maybe make Allen more at ease, though she doubted that last part. "So, what classes did you decide on this year, guys? Are we gonna be together in everything this year, Rosie?" she said laughing. "Truthfully, I'm so annoyed by the fact that we have to start classes today, I feel like taking a small vacation with just my friends in this lovely resort." she added with a wave of her hand, laughter still on her voice.

oo: My computer wont load the forun, so I'm doing this on my phone. My apologies. Lily frowned at her older brothers response. "If thats how you're judging it, then nevermind..." She said in annoyance. Why was it her brother had to be the quittach captian? Once again, Lily found herself wishing that she'd been worted into a different house. Like Ravenclaw, no family there. [/i] Lily returned her friends smirk at the invisable comment, and theb leaned her chin on her hand. It also annoyed her none of her family thought she even could play beater, sure she was small looking, but she'd played Quittage with her parents and older brothers a lot. And unknown to her brothers, she'd been practicing for beater by herself with a ball she'd charmed to come after her all summer. She knew that they would probably have a boy be beater though, which was very sexist in her opinion. Looking up into the air, Lily saw what Ashley had written to her brother. Exactly. she agreed. Rollibg her eyes, Lily listened to her cousin Rose's introduction to Allen. "Hi, I'm Lily." she said unenthustically. She knew that Rose having a boyfriend would mean she would ignore Lily even more then she already did, not to mention now they would really have nothing in common. Or at least for now... She thought with a small half smile. Looking around towards the Head table Lily began to wonder when they would get their schdules. She really wanted to get to class already and her she was just itching to go to Charms. That was womething no one could tell her she wasnt good at. They could make fun of her for wanting to be beater, but she was exellent at Charms. Stupid James...

James grinned broadly, pulling his friend in for a hug, quite loud when he greeted his best friend, "Ben! Man, I missed you like hell last night." he said, making a space for his best friend on the side of him, opposite of Gia. Of the two next to him, they were both his best friends, but as much as he loved Gia, he needed to have a guy friend around. He was surrounded by family, especially girls, it was always a relief when Ben was around.
"But don't worry about it, mate. We'll get you into another party sometime soon." He said with a smirk, but was distracted slightly as Gia whispered in his ear. "No shit?" he said quietly, raising a brow, and soon after, Rose confirmed this news. He was slightly suspicious, but gave Allen a friendly enough grin, nodding in his direction, showing his approval. He hadn't really liked Rose's past flings, but she and Allen had been somewhat together-- at least at parties-- and he wasn't completely surprised.
When Roxanne arrived, apologizing to Gia, he frowned slightly, remembering Gia and his conversation just a few minutes ago in his dorm. He was glad they had solved things in some ways, but there was still a sour aftertaste of the whole event. He changed the subject willingly, changing up a bit. "Uhm, we'll probably have some unofficial try outs, just for shits and giggles." he said with a shrug, taking a sip of pumpkin jucie. They would probably have class soon-- something he wasn't exactly looking forward to.

Gia grinned over at Ben, who had just arrived at breakfast and taken a seat on the other side of James. "Hey Ben!" she said, wondering vaguely if James would fill Ben in on what actually did happen at the party. She assumed that he probably would, knowing that James and Ben were really close. It was sort of weird for Gia to know that Ben and James were probably just as close as James and herself, if not closer. They were both close in different ways, but Gia felt like Ben and James probably talked about her more than her and James talked about Ben. Guys always talked to their best mate about girls, right? Just girls in general, not even girls who they were interested in, necessarily. She was sort of jealous of Ben in that sense; James probably opened up to him a bit more about certain things than he did to her. It made sense, she supposed, since she told Rose different things than she did with James...but still.
"Don't go all protective older cousin on her...Allen looks uncomfortable enough here," she muttered, feeling bad. Allen did look slightly out of place at their table, but that wasn't because he was unwelcome; everyone was still getting used to the idea of him.
Just then, Roxanne sat down next to Gia, on her other side. "Oh, hey Roxanne! Uh, yeah, don't worry about it. It only made the awkwardness a bit worse, but not too much," she said with a small smile, being slightly sarcastic. "We're okay, we talked it over and everything's fine. Did Jay say anything about it after you guys left?" Gia asked, curious as to what Jay thought of the whole situation. He obviously wouldn't be overjoyed, considering he was flirting with Gia when James squeezed his way in and stirred things up a bit. She didn't want Jay to think she was with James or anything, because that wasn't the case. Gia hated it when people had the wrong idea of her because of a stupid misunderstanding.

Ashley rolled her eyes. Finally she was getting greeted and having her questioned answered. Not that she wasn't use to not being noticed or being completely overlooked and ignored, because she was. And if Lily hadn't befriended her that day, she would of still be use to it, she would of been living her life at Hogwarts alone and lonely, and she bet if she disappeared no one would even know or even remember who was. But Lily had gathered up the nerve to speak to her and managed to befriend her. And as the years went, Ashley began to crave being noticed and that acknowledgment that came with it. She hated how she had become so much more dependent on being noticed and acknowledged than she had been before. Her former self wouldn't give a damn about being noticed or not. But who she was now did and she would have to deal with it.
Ashley didn't respond to them, just picked up her wand and wrote out the responses, while taking a large bite out of her toast. She was clearly annoyed at them for the late greetings. "I'm fine. How are you?" She wrote out, sending the response over to Rose. If she could speak, she would sneered out her remark. She truly did act more like a stuck-up pureblood, that seemed far more suited for Slytherin than Gryffindor. Ashley had finished her first piece of toast before she rolled her eyes and wrote out Dominique's response. "I'm sneaky like that." Was her only response to the older red-head.
The mute was stuck listening to the conversations going on around her. She listened and watched as Ben approached the table and sat down next to James. She had also heard Rose introduce Allen, and said something about them going out. She looked over at Ben and nodded somewhat politely to him. Ben wasn't so bad. It was James and the others that she just didn't like. She turned her attention toward Allen, and nodded to him, even giving him a small awkward two fingered wave, as both her hands were currently occupied with holding something in them. With those out of the way, she returned to her food, and quickly finished her food, and drowned the rest of her glass of water.
Ashley had a nasty idea of what she would do to James. She acted like she was putting her wand back into the sleeve of her robes, but as she glanced under the table, spying Jame's shoes. She pointed her wand at the male's shoes, and thought the charm, and made James's shoelaces' tied together, before she quickly slipped her wand back into her robes, and placed her hand on Lily's shoulder. "Want to leave?" She mouthed out to her friend, as she got up from the table, wondering if Lily would follow or if she would rather stay here, it was perfectly fine with her with whatever Lily chose to do, but she didn't want to be anywhere near James when he found out that she had tied his shoelaces together.

Ah, James. They were so similar, almost alike. His look did not go unnoticed, the dead give away that he was eavesdropping upon her simple statement. Roxanne hadn't even stated that it was about the kiss, yet obviously implied, but it would be for the best to ignore his nosiness and let him blabber on about his oh-so-wonderful Quidditch team and tryouts.
Roxanne rolled her eyes. She could only hope that Gia was being sarcastic. It might have been more awkward for her to stand there, gawking at them and waiting for some form of entertainment. That's why she had Jay around, to think rationally when clearly she was in no state to do so. "Fair point, though things seemed to have worked themselves out in the meantime," she replied, shrugging.
Her nosiness worked splendidly, though falling anti-climatic to her original thoughts. Just fine? What was the look James gave? Best not to push the envelope this time.
"Oh, Jay?" Roxanne started, her mind reeling for an answer. There were a few amusing pick-ups lines, and a snog... Obviously there was no way that that was going to suffice for an answer and clearly she expected something else for a reply. White lies never hurt, but they always came back to bite. "A little bit, I mean, he was really concerned about you and James, especially since James was stirring up trouble with him and the whole kissing thing. He didn't want to create any more tension in your friendship with James. That's all, really."
...Yeah.

"Hey Rose," Ben smiled over at another familiar face, one of his closest friends. She was sitting next to Allen Blackwell, which confused Ben quite a bit because he was almost sure that Allen was a Hufflepuff. And was it just him, or were he and Rose holding hands? The situation here at breakfast that morning seemed much more anxious than it normally did, to Ben at least. James was whispering with Gia, and every once in a while, Gia would turn to whisper to Roxanne. Allen wasn't speaking much at all, but Ben knew that he was pretty shy, not unlike himself.
"Dude, what the hell did I miss?" he muttered to James, adding himself into the chain of whispers. "Blackwell with Rose? And what's going on with Gia? You guys seem weird," Ben said to James, even quieter than his previous question. Everyone at the table looked fairly happy, but almost in a fake way, as if they would all be grimacing if they stopped trying to smile.
He heard a familiar voice a little bit down the table; it was Dom. She was a friend of his, but they weren't really that close right now. "Hey Dominique," he said, probably barely loud enough for her to hear. But Ben wasn't a particularly loud person at all, so he wasn't about to yell for her. Dom looked like she was the only one at the table who was in a genuine good mood; she was laughing like she normally was, not letting herself be too bothered by the tension between her friends.

The mood at the table was obviously getting heavier, which made Allen feel like he was causing most of that; the Gryffindor table never seemed this way from afar. New arrivals all looked at him like a third wheel, which he was, he supposed, but he disliked the feeling. Rose greeted a boy he recognized as James' friend with particular enthusiasm, making him a bit uncomfortable. Not that he wasn't already, so he hoped no one would notice that. He took a glass of pumpkin juice with his free hand and drank from it while greetings were passed.
Rose turned his way again, making him smile slightly. He noticed in the background more whispering going on, making him sigh lightly. "I can't believe you're impervious to this, Rose..." he whispered as he leaned in to her a bit. His fingers kept stroking hers softly, and he could see she wasn't exactly at ease either.
Dominique's question made him look at the redhead, slightly shocked he was being addressed with a question directly, almost. "Uh... I'm taking Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology, Astronomy... and I don't know..." he answered, hoping not to make a fool of himself by doing so... though Dominique was looking their way. "Those are the main ones I need for Magizoologist..." His eyes drifted back to Rose, wondering what she was planning to do after Hogwarts, and also remembering she probably didn't know about his until just now.

It was so exceedingly good to see Ben, and she immediately wanted to pull him away from the table and tell him absolutely everything that happened--Allen, James & Gia--she wanted to talk to him and listen to him, but of course, after greeting her with nothing but a small smile and a greeting, he had turned away, joining in on James & Gia's cliquish whispers. To distract herself, she turned back to Ashley, "I'm good, thanks," and watched her receding figure, wondering on some level of her mind if Lily was going to follow her. The girls needed a serious sister talk, and she felt guilty for ignoring Lily at the party, even if it had been entirely accidental.
Turning back to Allen, she rested her head on his shoulder, sighing. "Who said I was impervious to this? This is like torture, except...well, Crucio isn't much of a gossiper." It seemed to have fallen upon her to lighten the mood, which wasn't out of the ordinary. Her own emotions at this point had flown the coop, leaving her with nowhere to hide, except in Allen, which seemed to be the path she had chosen. But he, for some reason, was walking on the path right next to her, and that was extremely comforting, as she was unsure of where she was going, or of what she would find upon arriving.
At that moment, though, her only thought was how much she loved and adored Dom for being her superhero and finding some way, as usual, to save the day. Somehow, she had done a fabulous job of doing something that she couldn't do, getting Allen to open up a bit with her friends. "That's cool!" She enthused, recalling Allen's talents in Care of Magical Creatures from her years of taking the class, which had been fraught with interesting injuries, thanks to her inability to stay calm for long. Was it her turn to say what she wanted to do? Because, honestly, she had no idea. It would be fun to write, or maybe to be an Auror or work in the Ministry somehow, but she had no idea. Returning his look with a smile, she left the question to float in the air. "Mind helping me out in Herbology?" She asked, hopefully. She'd decided to keep the class, for Professor Longbottom's sake--her parents would never let her leave his class.

Dominique smiled widely as she heard a low greeting from Ben. She winked his way before he managed to look away, her mind remembering how cute the boy was. She chuckled a bit, because, according to her, being back home deteriorated her flirting abilities. The older classmate had immediately popped back into the gossip between Gia and James, to catch up on what was going on. She rolled her eyes a bit, because she'd just ask... then again Ben was shyer than her.
Her eyes returned to Rose and Allen. "That sounds awesome, Allen! I'll be seeing you in Care of Magical Creatures then, if we get it together." She said. She could feel the tension lightening already, and that made her smile even more. The mood between the new couple was getting better, and much less awkward and she was proud for helping.
Dominique noticed the owls arriving, and there was a small greeting from her parents, but that was it. She finished her pumpkin juice, and continued the conversation about careers. She was already quite happy with her decision, though her mother wouldn't agree with her."I think I'm gonna be a curse breaker. I'm gonna be all Super Dom to the rescue for Gringotts!" she said, laughing a bit at the end.
Her eyes drifted back up the table, making her notice people were starting to get their schedules and leave. "Whoa, is it that late already? Ready for classes?" she asked to the table in general. She got her schedule with little talk over the classes she was keeping and smiled brightly at the pair. "Transfiguration first period with Hufflepuff! Sounds lovely to me, should we get going?" she asked, more directed towards Rose and Allen than anyone, completely forgetting the fact that it was unlikely Allen would choose to stay in transfiguration. She finished up what was left on her plate and got up, smiling brightly at the pair as she waited for them to get up.

James sighed, glancing back over at Allen. It wasn't that he didn't like Allen-- he thought he was a good guy, a good partier, but a flirt. He bit his lip, frowning. Obviously he didn't want Rose to get hurt, though Rose was usually the one doing the hurting. His cousin was surprisingly a heart-breaker, but Godric knows how she'd react if she got dumped by someone like Allen. "I won't..." he said quietly to Gia. "Much." he added even quieter, raising a brow to Gia and giving a little smirk.
Turning to Ben, he smirked, giving him a look agreed with his first statement. However, his couldn't help but look slightly crestfallen as his best friend asked about Gia. He hadn't told him yet, obviously, but he was going to have to. It would be hard to explain, especially since James didn't know exactly how to explain it.
But soon Gia was talking to Roxanne about the night before, and James felt incredibly awkward. At one of Roxanne's statement, he froze, hand gripping the table. He had been stirring trouble with Jay? Why would he have possibly done that? He liked Jay, the dude was an awesome guy, and if they had been in the same house, James figured the two of them would be even better friends. Gia hadn't exactly told him the entire situation, he realized, probably out of embarrassment out of what had happened.
He sighed, turning back to Ben and gesturing to the entrance of the Great Hall. "I gotta go get my books before class. Wanna come, bro?" he asked, standing up and starting to head toward the door. However, he fell flat on his face, barely having time to shield his face as not to break his nose on the hard stone floor. "Fuck..." he said quietly, rolling over and seeing his shoes tied together-- clearly a spell, since James had an eye for this thing. Looking around wildly, he saw the one person who he figured would have done it. That damn girl, one of Lily's friends, who had already started heading for the door. Narrowing his eyes, he ground his teeth. "She's dead..." he said quietly, pulling out his wand and unwinding his shoelaces.

Gia smirked back at James. It was sort of pointless trying to convince him not to bug Rose about Allen, just like it was pointless for her brother Ethan to stop trying to get her to speak to anyone of the opposite gender or drink or do anything else that he loved to do back when he was at Hogwarts. "You can give her shit about it later then when Allen's not around. He's a good guy, ya know? Maybe this'll be good for Rose..." she said hopefully. Gia would always want only the best for one of her closest friends, but she had to admit that Rose needed to learn to settle with one guy that she really cared about.
Turning back to Roxanne, Gia bit her lip. "He was concerned? About my friendship with James?" she asked, somewhat bluntly like she was surprised. It seemed just a bit unlikely to Gia that Jay would bother worrying about anyone's friendships with other people, aside from himself. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing; her point was that Jay took care of himself. "Whatever, I'll talk to him about it later. It's no big deal, right? It's almost like it never happened," Gia said, not wanting to worry about this whole issue right then. She'd thought about it enough last night and this morning; for now she had to concentrate on classes and other stuff, not party drama.
As she was getting up from the table, still in conversation with Roxanne, Gia heard James swear suddenly. She looked over at his empty seat, then looked down at James lying face flat on the ground. It was obvious that James wasn't too happy about this. Gia giggled a little bit, but didn't want to piss James off even more, so she shut up and offered him her hand to help him up. "Did you see who it was?" she asked, trying to hold in more laughter.

Ashley didn't bother waiting for Lily's response, as she had already started leaving, when she had noticed James getting up. "Best leave now." She thought, as she gave Lily a small wave, and started walking away, turning around to watch the show that she had caused. Once James had fallen, did she turn around and walk away. Throwing her head back and openly laughing(It was as silent as her words.) as she disappeared from the Great Hall, once she was out of sight, she bolted for her classroom, which was COMC with Lily, she was laughing the whole time. Even though this was making it harder for her to breathe. She'd have time to catch her breath once she reached her destination.
(Ok yeah my post sucked but oh well.)

It was probably a good idea to shut her mouth right about now, before she started an avalanche of problems. Roxanne did know Gia on a higher level, but she was quite stumped when it came to her relationships with James and Jay. She did understand that she was not completely entitled to knowing, but it would have helped her in this situation, very much so.
"Yeah, you should definitely talk to him about it later," Roxanne started, shrugging. "Plus he'd put it in a more eloquent way, the smart prat that he is."
Oh right. Classes. Roxanne hadn't made her mind up yet about going. Her headache would make the decision for her.
"Psh, well, of course it never happened," she winked.
Ah. The commotion behind her was, well, funny as hell. James was on the ground, most likely not on his own accord. "The gravity of the situation..." she mused, shaking her head. Gravity was certainly frowning upon him at the moment.
She reached for a muffin, contemplating her schedule. Do I really want to go to class?

Ben couldn't help but grin in response to Dominique's wink, just a tiny bit embarrassed because of it. Then again, it wasn't a difficult task at all to make him feel that way. He noticed that James was looking a bit uncomfortable, taking longer than usual to respond to Ben's questions. Ben could tell that James had a lot on his mind at the moment, most likely about Gia, considering the way that he seemed to be listening carefully to Gia's conversation with Roxanne. Ben knew that there was a story to this, but now wasn't the time for it. The two boys saw each other all the time, but it wasn't often that Gia or some other group of people was with them.
James' suggestion ended up being the perfect opportunity for them to talk. "Yeah, sure. I guess we have a lot to talk about," he said, slightly confused yet still interested in what was going on. Just then, James seemed to randomly trip and fall on the floor. Ben didn't laugh at him, mostly because of how he would've felt if he were in James' shoes at that moment. Speaking of shoes- the source of James' odd accident was apparently that his shoelaces were tied together. No one around the table looked guilty, but he saw a few people walking away from the table, to classes and away from the scene of the crime. "Dude, what happened?" Ben said, going to try to help James up, but Gia beat him to it. Gia, unlike Ben, was laughing a bit at James, though it seemed like she was trying to hold it in.

"Kinda figured, with what you said last night..." Allen answered Rose, smiling a bit apologetically. She had made the issue sound like it slid right off of her last night... Well, assumptions were wrong and that wasn't good. He hoped she didn't get offended. She was still be joking about it a bit, so he thought it wasn't that bad. Allen liked how it felt to talk to her, and actually remember things, and actually... be themselves. It was weird, but good.
He smiled a bit more widely as she asked for help in Herbology. It was one of his best subjects, and he loved it, but he didn't know yet what she was going for. "Sure, I'd love to. It's really easy, just gotta get your hands a bit dirty." he said. Dominique's easy nature made him smile a bit more. Maybe he'd get along well with them, after a while. He hoped it lasted that long, but he tried to push the horrible thoughts out of his mind. "What subjects are you taking, Rose?" he asked, a bit of his shyness going back once again, not sure if he should ask about her career.
He noticed their hands were still locked, making his smile wider, despite the obvious whispering all around them. He was trying to stay focused on their conversation. "Hopefully we will. I'm not taking Transfiguration, though... Y'know, not the best at it, and I don't need it anymore so..." he said, not really wanting to go back to the subject of his lack of skills when wandwork was involved. He took a few bites of the piece of toast he was eating and downed his pumpkin juice as he noticed everyone was starting to leave, smiling over at Rose once again as he got up, their hands still joined. "Shall we go?"
