Sixteen, Gryffindor, Sixth
Basics:
Full Name: Erica Madelyn Grey
Nickname(s): Eri
DoB: February 27th
Sexuality: Straight
The Wizarding World:
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Affiliated With: Order
Wand: Mahogany and Dragon Heartstring; 8 ½ inches
Appearance:
Hair: Erica has dark brown hair, usually worn straight or pulled to the side in a ponytail. It flows to about the middle of her back, the same length she’s kept it for years.
Eyes: They are a hazel color. If you were to look straight into her eyes you’d see a mass of green around the outer edges, with brown molded around the middle.
Face: A normal oval-shaped face, nothing abnormal or distracting. No high use of makeup, infact none at all.
Body, include weight and height: She stands at a below average of about five feet and one inch(s), she weighs around one hundred and twenty-one pounds.
Face Claim: Vanessa Carlton
Other: She doesn’t have too many distracting qualities. She doesn’t like to draw too much attention to herself. When out of uniform, she’ll usually wear very dark colors, such as black, dark blue, and dark purple. She tries to make up for her first years of Hogwarts and her over-excessive use of hair color, by just trying to blend in.
Personality:
Erica likes to stay mainly to herself, she won’t really tell many people dark secrets or her worst fears, due to a sort of paranoia that when she does tell someone something about her like that, that they will use that to their advantage to get her to do something. It’s a strict trusting issue she has with people other than herself. She has found some people she can be round, but she’s never brought herself out too much and relieved her true nature. Other then telling of secrets and whatnot, she tries to be a rather outgoing and busy person. She mainly keeps herself busy with any task so she doesn’t look lazy towards other students. In other words, she’s a rather good student. She tries her best to stay out of trouble, but she seems to always land herself into some sort of mess, no matter how hard she tries to stay out anything but her own business.
She isn’t too keen on love. She thinks it’s an utter waste of time, especially when she’s only sixteen. In other words, she won’t be likely to fall in love too easily, if she were to ‘hook up’ with someone it would be to her convenience to make it a one night stand and let it be over with, so she doesn’t have to deal with the other person and keeping them happy. In this sense, she can be seen as a heartless person when in the emotional department. She can be found a little ‘off her rocker’ by people because she’s never really had a crush or just fallen for the ‘number one’ guy at the school. Now don’t get her wrong, she can fall in love, heck, she’ll blush around a guy she think is cute, or stumble around her words, but it’s less likely to happen to her than another girl.
In regards to her ‘true nature’, she thinks of herself as insane at most times. She likes to think she thinks on an entirely different level than anyone else. Mostly on the elaborating and complexity of most topics. Which, in turn gives a pretty high-leveled ego to deal with, that when it gets hit, even by something small, can lead her straight into a mindless depression. Which, she tries to conceal as well as she can most of the time.
She considers herself a lover of the arts. Though, she tries to keep it a secret. Of course, she’ll gladly demonstrate her skills in playing a soft melody. That’s something that can greatly inflate her ego. But, say her other passion, dance. She’ll be glad to hide that from anyone who dares pay attention. She’ll wait till everyone’s left the dorms, common room, or hallway, until she would do a causal pirouette or a graceful leap across the room.

History and Details: Erica grew up in a peaceful and normal household. Both parents had jobs and were rarely home, so she was often left with her forgetful grandmother and her young sister. She wanted out. She wanted to be different, to explore anything she could get her hands on, anything at all. But, with her hawk-eyed grandmother, she could never leave, no matter how many distractions she would cause. Until, the ne faithful day she managed to fake her young sister being sick, and she hopped out her first-story kitchen window and raced into town. To anyone this town was nothing, but to an aspiring eleven-year-old it was the best thing in the world. She ran through the streets taking the people and odd smells and sights just now beholding her eyes after eleven years. She was thrilled, but not anymore thrilled till she found herself staring into a dance studio, watching as girls her age, pranced around in pink fluff, in beautiful poses. She wanted to be one of them. She was in awe until she noticed the clock in the background, it was well past time for her parents to be back. She raced home and carefully walked through the door, trying not to make a sound. She was safe. She turned the corner to go into the kitchen, and there sat her mother and father, expressions of rage on their faces, as they looked at her. They began shouting at her, especially her mother, held a note her hand. She wouldn’t tell her want it was, but she soon found out it was her acceptance letter.
Her family comprised of her always on the run mother and her constantly stressed out father. Mother was seemingly famous for her work with the daily prophet and her father was a half inventor, half ministry puppet. She had the normal little sister, who always got on Erica’s nerves at any chance. She had the ailing, once great grandmother who lagged around the house. Erica wanted to be rid of it all. To her this was a boring life, but eventually as she got older it seemed to shape her. Especially when she went to Hogwarts for the first time. She was all over the place in fashions and styles, always outspoken and acting crazy and getting in trouble. Trying to get noticed. Until, her parents became concerned and became even stricter on her and how she was taught. Shaping her to become a basic robot, there to learn, and nothing else.

“Ah, absolute peace,” Not a sound nor a movement was made as she preceded down the corridor. She came to a precise stop in the middle, listening carefully for any stirring signs of life. She grinned at her amazing opportunity, as she put down her book satchel and took off her cloak and shoes and laid them to the side of the corridor. In one quick and snapping motion she gracefully moved across the always polished floor. Her swiftness and execution increased due to the polish and some very slippery stockings she had on currently. She fell right into place with her movements, now starting to hum a popular piano tune she’s accustomed to playing at times. Her timing was perfect. Her execution was perfect. Her laughter was- Wait. Laughter? She froze solid mid-spin, one leg in the air, as she heard laughter coming from behind her, she put her leg down onto the floor and turned abruptly into the faces of three seventh year, Gryffindors, pointing and laughing at her. Her eyes flew wide open the same time her face flushed off all natural color and fell in sync as the same color red of her Gryffindor color-schemed tie.
Her hand flew to her now gaping wide mouth, as she silently cursed herself for letting herself loose in a corridor. She slide over to her cloak, satchel, and shoes and tried to run as fast as she possibly could down the corridor, only to be plagued by more laughter as her socks lost the duel with the polished floor and she slid across the rest of the length of the corridor on her stomach. She heard the roar of laughter grow louder when she fell. She panicked as she picked herself up again and tried to turn into the next corridor and out of sight, only to fall on her face again before disappearing from the students view.
“Why? Why did I do that? A public place? Really, Erica. You had to do that, didn’t you?” she berated herself out loud as she quickly placed her shoes back on her feet and shoved her cloak in her satchel and ran towards her next class, Divination. “By lunch it’ll be the news of the Gryffindor table and now I have to put up with the mad demon in this class.” She scaled the stairs two at a time, trying to avoid tardiness and any other reason for the old hag to be able to pick on her today. She shot through the door just as soon as the Professor was closing it, and slid right into her seat. “Perhaps, you should invest in a watch, Miss Grey. It would do you some good!” the Professor barked as Erica scowled in unison with her demands. She already knew she wouldn’t listen to this woman, so she slumped her shoulders and leaned into her chair, and stared at the crystal ball on her table, and slowly began to feel her eyelids get heavier, until she completely out and down for the count.
