Zacharias Devon Finch-Fletchley
Seventeen, Hufflepuff, Seventh Year.
Basics:
Full Name:
Zacharias Devon Finch-Fletchley.
Nickname(s):
Zach, Dev, Devon, anything but his full first name.
DoB:
February 5, 2005.
Sexuality:
Heterosexual.
The Wizarding World:
Blood Status:
Half-blood.
Affiliated With:
The Order; his morals run deep with those of the new Order, something he’s not ashamed to admit.
Wand:
Nine and three-quarter inches, ash, dragon-heartstring core, reasonably springy.
Appearance:
Hair:
Naturally dark, curly hair, especially when grown out. No brushing required, really. A quick raking through his hair with his hand suffices.
Eyes:
Hazel, almond-shaped eyes. They're very striking.
Face:
Oval-shaped, much like his father's own. Zach has bushy eyebrows and a constant smile on his face.
Body:
He's a bit scrawny for his height (5'11"). Weighing about 155 pounds, he's not that strong physically.
Face Claim:
Darren
Other:
- Wears pink sunglasses on occasion.
- Once tried to dye his hair. Bad idea.
- Named after fellow classmate Zacharias Smith.
Personality:
Zach's a typical Hufflepuff -- fiercely loyal and hard-working. He's the sweetest and nicest person one will ever meet. Being outgoing works in his favor, as meeting new people has become sort of a hobby. Among being outgoing, he's absolutely friendly and understanding. Giving advice is something he likes to do, as Zach is patient and nonjudgmental.
It often appears that he can do no wrong, that everything from his personality to his social life is absolutely perfect. Of course, one would have to be daft to think that. No one's perfect. Slytherins tend to bring out a hidden side of Zach -- most often the bottled emotions tucked away, away from being a burden on anyone else. Irritability, irrationalness, and impatience stem from unpleasant meetings with his peers. To be so understanding and accepting himself, and not have the same respect in return really grinds his gears.
In addition, he often gets overprotective. Neutral, really. Sometimes it can be overbearing. Zach's definitely one to stand up for a lady or his beliefs, whether or not it'll get him into trouble.

Justin Finch-Fletchley and Susan Bones had been very good friends from their years at Hogwarts. Very good friends. Their relationship was long-term and quite physical. Zach came along toward the latter end of their no-strings-attached relationship, so they decided to get married to get serious. However, it became strained and difficult as the years went by, prompting separation by mutual agreements. Zach stayed with his mother, seeing his father often. He had no ill against the both of them.
Around the time Zacharias began attending Hogwarts, his mother was promoted to a higher position in the Wizengamot. During holidays and the like, he was often bored and alone while his mother was working. His Christmas wishes were always fulfilled, but they were never enough. In his fourth year, he chose to live with his father, finding more attention from him over the holidays. His column consumed some parts of the evening, but enough caffeine kept his father awake and talkative.
He often fears that he may wind up in the Ministry, since both of his parents have connections. Zach has a passionate desire to see the world, and he may take that time to discover what his true passion is. He excels at some subjects -- though some come about from a friendly rivalry with Zoe Thompson, a fine lady in his House. To get away from the dismal things, he busies himself with homework and viewing in season Quidditch games. It's a good life.

It was safe to safe that everyone was surprised when a neatly addressed envelope was delivered to the Potter household. Well, there were two, but possibly only one was expected. Even James Sirius Potter II was surprised. One was addressed to him, and the other to Albus. Albus had torn his open first, with a Prefect badge spilling out onto the floor. Lily had sniped it to examine it, leading her brother around the house on a wild chase. That left James in peace, but his mother had gotten to his own letter first.
"Mum!" he complained, snatching at the letter. "That's mine! Let me look at it first!"
Ginny complied, but look a bit reluctant. James ripped open the envelope and got much of a surprise. McGonagall had enclosed the badge concerning his promotion to Head Boy of Gryffindor.
Not even his parents had achieved as much (his godparents had been Prefects, but due to the subsequent war, had messed up their schooling), but here James was, in a position of authority and power!
He was going to abuse it, of course. This was James Sirius Potter II.
The school year had come quickly after his letter, and the typical running through a wall while the Muggles were oblivious trick was done. James separated away from his siblings in pursuit of his own compartment, well, the ones that were reserved for Prefects and Head Boys/Girls. His stuff had been loaded already, saving him from the backbreaking work of lugging it to an open compartment. When he turned to walk along the corridor, he was startled by a sudden appearance.
"James!" exclaimed Derek, with a mischievous grin. "Creating trouble yet?"
James shook his head, pointing the badge he was already wearing. "Nah, but guess what! I'm Head Boy! I can boss you around!" he said, laughing.
Derek's mouth hung open slightly. "McGonagall let you? Is she daft?"
"Apparently," James commented, continuing down the corridor. "But since you're not Head Boy, we have to depart."
James ducked into the nearest compartment, unbeknowst to him that it already occupied. The girl sitting there was reading a book, sort of, when she wasn't sucking on her finger. Then there was a familiar looking cat sitting beside her...
"Lauren!" he exclaimed, slyly. "What a surprise. What a surprise."
