Full Name: Achille (pronounced AH-sheel) Calixte Desmarais
Nickname(s): Ash
DoB: February 24th
Sexuality: Homosexual
The Wizarding World:
Blood Status: Pureblood
Affiliated With: Undecided
Wand: 11 3/4’ oak, unicorn hair, unyielding
Appearance:

Eyes: He has amber eyes that are full of sparkle. He doesn’t often look people in the eyes, though, so they aren’t noticed.
Face: He has rather angular features, but soft at the same time. His nose is rather pointed. His features as a whole are generally appealing, probably due to his 1/8th Veela blood. He has a very pretty face, which is often in a frown, even when he is happy.
Body, include weight and height: Achille used to be on the on the short side at 5’3”. When he returned to Hogwarts for his third year, he had grown around 3 inches, making him 5’6”
Face Claim: Conor Oberst
Other: He always wears sleeves, especially after this summer. Underneath are the markings of his heroin addiction.
Personality:
Achille was always withdrawn. When he came to Hogwarts, he was especially shy because English isn’t his first language. He loves reading, because he can lose himself in a book and forget the world and its problems. Also, he doesn’t have to deal with people, which has never come easily to him. He has a hard time opening up to people, and ends up withdrawn in most ways.
Paranoia is common in Achille's day to day life. He worries that people don't like him, are out to get him, or set him up. He doesn't trust people because whatever they do, he imagines an ulterior motive, trying to bring him harm. Achille thinks that people all talk behind his back, and are actively trying to uncover his secrets.
Achille is incredibly smart and dedicated to schoolwork. He is confused by people who slack off in school, since he doesn’t see why anyone would waste their time and opportunities at Hogwarts to just slack off. It is very difficult to become his friend and earn his trust, but if you can, then he is very loyal and protective. He finds family very important, and is protective of his family. He finds that he can open up around his family and lose his shyness.
Often, he lacks in manners if he perceives someone as inferior, not wanting to deal with speaking to them. Those he admires or cares about, though, he is very courteous to, and doesn’t mind having to use English to talk with them. He admires bold people and those with courage, since he finds those qualities incredibly lacking in himself, but he is annoyed by stupidity.
His sexuality is a very personal matter to Achille, and he isn’t open about being gay. He has never been in a real relationship, but he has been with girls physically. He has only come open about his preferences to one person, his cousin Dominique, since she is the person he trusts most. Victoire was much older than Achille, so he never really knew her as well. Louis, though, Achille is terrified of finding out, because he thinks Louis would dislike him if he knew. Family always seemed more important than friends to Achille.
Achille has been dealing with depression since his first year at Beauxbaton. He has found release in quidditch, and drugs. He is terrified about someone finding out about the latter, though. Most people don’t know about his depression, or the circumstances which brought him to Hogwarts in the middle of his second year.

History and Details:
Achille was born into a very happy household. Wanting him to grow up to not be judgmental of muggles, his parents sent him to a muggle school until he got his letter for Beauxbatons. He made friends easily with the muggles. Because of his Veela blood, everyone wanted to be friends with him. This is where he found a love for education.
Achille had an odd tendency to love to jump off of things as an infant. From the living room furniture to the playground at his school, he loved the feeling of free fall. One day, when he was around 6 years old, his father left a ladder leaning up against the roof, where he had been trying to see fix the shingles muggle-style. Young Achille climbed atop the two story building, and leaped from the top right in front of the window. His mother was startled to see his body hurtling past. When she ran outside, he was sitting on the ground, playing with a blade of grass.
A few moths later, Achille got his first broom and has been on it practically ever since. He always has had an aptitude for flying. Most of his problems feel as if they disappear while he's on a broomstick.
When he went to Beauxbatons, he started out well liked, even if the other students thought him a little odd for having grown up around muggles, and for his quiet disposition. He had some problems adjusting, because he had never been away from his mother and father before. The real problems came about during flying class. He was such a fantastic flier, showing up all of the other children, that he was given permission to try out for Quidditch.
From that point, he was shunned by the lower grade students, because they thought he deemed himself better than them. The higher level students disliked him for getting a spot over them. He was a stranger among the wizards, having mostly been among muggles for his earlier life. He was alone, and depressed. The only time he felt good was while flying, and that was ruined for him by the bullying of the upper level students.
Over Christmas break, he met with his muggle friends, who had discovered drink and marijuana while they were away at school. They introduce Achille to it, and he found that he could forget himself and his woes while smoking with his friends.
When he returned to school, he went through the same tortures of exclusion. He pulled through, and ended up having the highest grades in his class, causing more dislike of him. He was thankful for the time when he could go back to his home, where he could be with his family, and party with his friends.
He began to sneak some of his vices into school when he returned for his second year, smoking privately to take the edge off. One day in, the day of a Quidditch match, he just couldn't take it anymore. When he didn't show up for the game, the students put someone else in his place, happy for his disappearance. Suddenly, they saw him leaping from the balustrade halfway through the game. He had decided that if the only way he could live was under the shackles of a vice, which didn't even seem to help him anymore, then he didn't want to live. He was saved by someone's quick thinking and momentum aversion spell. He was sent home from Beauxbatons, and, worried about its reputation, he was asked not to return.
He came to Hogwarts that year, done with his habits, and even more committed to his schoolwork. He still felt the outsider, but Hogwarts students were kinder to him, they just gave him distance because of his language difference. He was happy for a time, until the end of the year, when some Slytherin students a year older than him were joking around and hexed him with the full-body bind in a dungeon. After that event, he snapped, and when he got home, he went straight back to his friends, and began to be more depressed than ever.
His parents believed that his fall was an accident, and allowed him to spend time with his friends as before, naive to what they were doing. He continued to drink and smoke, and lost his virginity this summer, also beginning to try harder drugs to forget his depression. During his third year, he was more withdrawn than ever, not having any way to deal with his emotions except on the quidditch pitch. He was too afraid to try smoking at Hogwarts, because several times he had been caught in Beauxbatons, but he had no friends to judge him there. At Hogwarts he had a few people who liked him, and he was terrified of losing them.
The summer between third and fourth year, he changed a lot. He began to do drugs with his muggle friends again, this time starting to use heroin. On his return to Hogwarts, he feels worse than ever. It's only been a couple days without using, and he's gotten the shakes, and couldn't focus in class. Will he have to somehow get his drug to Hogwarts to be able to function normally?

Achille was lying in bed, crying from pain and nausea. He was under the blankets so no one could see. "I thought I would be able to deal with this withdrawal thing." He couldn't. It was hell. He had barely been able to make it through Care of Magical Creatures without passing out. If only it were as easy to come by that here as it was back home. He suddenly sat up, having an epiphany. The sudden motion caused him to get sick, and he grabbed the bucket next to his bed for this purpose, expelling the contents of his unhappy stomach into it. He grabbed his wand and muttered a quick spell, which transfigured it into water.
Achille grimaced, but he was extremely dehydrated. He looked in the pail, thinking "it's pure clean water. It doesn't matter if it was vomit moments ago." He held his breath and tipped back the bucket to his mouth, drinking the pure clean water that had moments ago been disgusting.
After waiting a few moments to feel better from the clear water, he slowly began to go back to his idea to cure his affliction. He wrote a note with very clear instructions on a small parchment, and attached a clip of Euros to it, tying the bunch in a bundle, and then putting on a vial of clear liquid that he had been saving for an emergency inside the small package. Now was the hard part. Making the climb to the owlery.
After the arduous climb, that required too many breaks, Ash finally made it to the Owlery. There was his bird, Lundi. He gave several sidelong glances to make sure the two others up here were not looking, and he attached the small bundle to the dark bird's leg, hoping that it would carry all the way back home. Lundi was a strong bird, so she could probably handle it.
As Lundi flew away, he breathed a sigh of relief that, before it grew stale in the air, became a sigh of resentment. Anger. Depression. He was stuck under the huge burden of his addiction, but it was the only way to deal with his withdrawal. He couldn't go for help, what would the other kids think? They already made fun of him behind his back every chance they got.
